Imagine a network of mentors across Canada who all want to make a difference in the world.
All the mentors are volunteers who are interested in helping social initiatives. They might be experts in project management, marketing, finance, accounting, strategy, technology, fundraising, leadership, or many other areas.
We are looking for people who want to make a difference.
How Does It Work?
Step 1: Contact the Community Manager
Please send your resume or LinkedIn profile link to the Community Manager indicating that you wish to become a mentor.
Step 2: Interview with Community Manager
The Community Manager will contact you to find out more about you. We want to make sure that the matching process is done well & that there is a good fit between the project and the mentor. This interview is a great opportunity to ask all of your questions
Step 3: Connect with the Social Mentor Network.
The system uses your LinkedIn profile to connect you to the Social Mentor Network. If you already have a LinkedIn account, your registration will take 3 minutes. If you don’t have a LinkedIn account, register for one here.
Log into the Social Mentor Network, set up your profile, and explore the platform.
Step 4: Mentee Matching
The mentees are each referred 2 to 3 mentors. The mentees will contact each mentor to set up a meeting (in person or by phone). It is important that all parties are comfortable.
Step 5: Mentee Selection
Once you have been matched with a mentee, the mentorship agreement will be for a 6 month relationship with a minimum of 12 hours of interaction. There are resources available to help throughout this entire process.
